Have you ever wanted to see Grease in movie theaters? Well, you’ll soon have the chance.

In honor of Grease star Olivia Newton-John, who passed away earlier this month, some theaters will be bringing Grease back to the big screen.
According to ABC News, the world’s biggest theater chain, AMC Theaters, is bringing Grease back to the big screen in honor of the actress, as well as to raise funds for charity. Starting this weekend, the 1978 musical will play in over 130 AMC locations around the U.S.

Tickets for Grease will be just $5, with $1 of each ticket sold going to AMC Cares (AMC’s charitable fund) with proceeds going to breast cancer research. Newton-John was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 and announced in 2017 that it had returned.
AMC CEO Adam Aron made the announcement on Twitter.
To honor the late Olivia Newton-John: many of our U.S. theatres this weekend will show her classic 1978 hit movie Grease, again on the big screen. An inexpensive $5 admission price, and through our charity AMC Cares we will donate $1 per sold ticket to breast cancer research. pic.twitter.com/MQc28RwOPA

Grease was initially released in 1978 and was a box office hit, going on to become the biggest-selling movie of the year. The soundtrack featured several hits, including “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” which was nominated for an Academy Award. To this day, the film remains popular across generations and has gained a cult status.
So if you’ve ever wanted to see Grease on the big screen, here’s your chance. Check with your local AMC theater for availability and showtimes.
