With Disney’s Magical Express gone, you now have to find a different way to get from the airport to Disney World.

You can either take a ride-share service, rent a car, or take one of the new transportation options like Mears Connect. Renting a car can be tough due to the recent high demand for rental cars, but now, there’s a NEW way to get a rental car in Orlando!
Car-sharing company Turo just partnered with Orlando International Airport to give people more options when it comes to renting a car, according to WESH.

“What we offer is an app where car owners can share their cars and earn some extra income for their family or for their lifestyles. And guests get access to great cars at great prices,” said Turo Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Mok.

Basically, Turo is like Airbnb — but for cars! The company has been around for about a decade but gained popularity recently because of the rental car shortage that’s been happening.

So, how does it work? Well, you download the Turo app and then you can pick the car you want and enter the dates you need the car for. After you book it and arrive at the Orlando International Airport, you can pick up the car directly from any of the garages. The host of the car will tell you where exactly the car is located.

Then, the host of the car can either leave a dropbox with the key inside, remotely start the vehicle through the app, or meet up with you to give you the key.

This could be an especially helpful service this summer, when there is usually a high demand for rental cars. “You get to avoid all of the rental car shuttles and the whole mess, and you get to work directly one on one with the Turo host. You get to keep the money in the local economy, it’s going directly to Orlando hosts,” said Mok, according to WESH.

There is also 24/7 customer support and roadside assistance available with Turo. And, there is a range of insurance and protection packages for purchase for users as well.

So, now you have a new option to get from the airport to Disney World or Universal Orlando on your vacation. Stay tuned to All Ears for more news, tips, and info.

Do you rent a car when you go to Disney World? Tell us in the comments!
Yes! We always rent a car when we go to Disney! We used Turo for our trip in March and saved about $300 compared to renting through enterprise. The car was great and app was very simple and user friendly! We have used Turo 3 times total now and it is the way to go!
Was going to use Turo for this year’s Easter trip (which ended up getting cancelled). It looks like a great service, and was about 70% cheaper than what the car rental companies were asking.
