PHOTOS: Mickey’s Toontown Has Officially CLOSED For Refurbishment in Disneyland

If there’s one thing that Disney is consistent about, it’s change.

Mickey’s ToonTown

Attractions come and go, and sometimes even entire lands need to be overhauled. Disney needs to stay up to date on the latest technology and pop culture in order to remain a popular tourist destination and Mickey’s ToonTown is the latest to undergo a transformation. And, as of March 9th, it is officially closed for refurbishment.

You won’t be able to wander Mickey’s ToonTown anymore because construction walls have officially gone up at the entrance to the land!

Officially closed to the public

The closure comes after Disneyland had announced that the popular land would be completely reimagined into a new concept that includes water play areas for kids, a large “CenTOONial Park”, and of course, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway too!

Closed

The project is currently projected to be finished sometime in 2023, although Disney has remained quiet on when exactly an opening date might be.

We can’t wait to see the reimagined land!

If you were a fan of the original ToonTown, we hope you had a chance to visit one last time before it’s reimagined into something new! As always, be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for Disney park news and more.
