PHOTOS & VIDEO: First Look at the at the Return of New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Disney World

2021 is coming to an end, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how — in Disney World!

2022 Ears

Per tradition, Magic Kingdom is celebrating with the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks. There have been two shows for guests to attend, one on December 30th at 11:50PM, with another planned for December 31st at 11:50PM.

We showed up at Magic Kingdom around 5PM, and already there was a crowd forming for the first fireworks!

Prior to Fantasy in the Sky, a showing of Disney Enchantment was planned for 6:30PM.

Crowds for Disney Enchantment

The park’s hours for the day are 9AM to 1AM, with plenty of guests excited to celebrate with New Year’s Eve parties a night early!

Even though it’s not quite New Year’s Eve, after Disney Enchantment took place, there were plenty of celebrations happening throughout the park! Over in Frontierland, you could find a DJ dance party.

And over in Tomorrowland, you could find a very different dance party as well!

Tomorrowland

Magic Kingdom was definitely crowded, with plenty of guests ready to celebrate the end of 2021 a night early at the Most Magical Place on Earth.

December 30th Crowds

As we made our way through the park, we also got one of our favorite Cast Member moments of the year!

By 11PM, plenty of guests had already started to gather at Cinderella Castle hub to get ready for Fantasy in the Sky. This year marks the return of the New Year’s fireworks show, as last year fireworks were not available at any of the parks.

Crowds Waiting for Fantasy in the Sky

As the crowd waited for the fireworks show, the party was going strong with plenty of music from a DJ on stage!

Then we were able to ring in the (early) New Year’s with the first performance of Fantasy in the Sky!

If you aren’t planning on seeing the fireworks tonight, and missed them yesterday, you’ll be able to live stream Fantasy in the Sky online tonight from home!
