PHOTOS & VIDEOS: Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is Now Open

Although we haven’t made it to Thanksgiving yet, we’re ready for the holidays at Disney World.

The holidays have arrived in Disney World!

After missing the Disney World Gingerbread House displays in 2020, we were so excited to learn that they were coming back this year. Now one of those Gingerbread Houses is officially ready for the holidays AND you can grab some special holiday treats too!

Today we visited the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to see the officially completed life-size Gingerbread House, and this year’s house has some new details inspired by Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

New 50th Details

The 2021 Gingerbread House is made with 1,050 pounds of honey, 140 pints of egg whites, 600 pounds of powdered sugar, 700 pounds of chocolate, 800 pounds of flour, 35 pounds of spices, plus “tons of creativity” and, of course, Disney Magic and Pixie Dust.

All the ingredients

You won’t find any red and green colors this year! Instead, in honor of Disney World’s 50th anniversary, you’ll see colorful EARidescent details in shades of blue, purple, green, and more.

We love the cookie shingles! The flowers represent the shades of colors in the EARidescent 50th anniversary colors.

Check out the cute figurines on the porch. We spy a mini Santa and a couple of toy soldiers!

Santa is also present in a bigger way, of course, dressed in blue to match this year’s theme.
