Earlier this year, Disney struck a big deal with the National Hockey League to broadcast their games.
Disney’s got a long history with the Wide World of Sports (see what we did there?) and now, Disney is feeling very hopeful about the success of this new deal.
According to Front Office Sports, Disney is hoping to make $100 Million in advertising revenue across the 2021-2022 hockey season, mostly from advertizers who had worked with the previous NHL broadcaster, Comcast.
Beyond ESPN, Disney has had an expanding interest in sports and sports broadcasting, which includes their housing, organizing, and broadcasting of the 2020 NBA bubble.
