These days, you can find just about everything in Disney World. Whether it’s the latest must-have souvenir or all of those vacation essentials you forgot to pack, there truly is a “world” of stuff at your fingertips!

Despite this, there are a select number of items you’ll struggle to find on Disney World property, if you’re able to find them at ALL! Here are seven things that you likely will not find on your next Disney World vacation!
Selfie sticks
When selfie sticks grew in popularity several years ago, Disney World made it an official policy that the item would not be allowed in the parks, and it has remained true to this day. Selfie sticks pose a safety risk to guests and Cast Members, especially when they are brought onto rides. So, keep them at home!

Toy guns and bubble wand guns
Toy guns and bubble wands in the shape of a gun were also banned several years ago from Disney World, and any existing items that were for sale in the parks disappeared from the shelves overnight. Weapons of any kind are not allowed in the theme parks, and toy versions were pulled as well.

Gum
A long-standing “tradition” of sorts in Disney World is that you won’t find chewing gum ANYWHERE for sale — not in the theme parks, hotels, Disney Springs — ANYWHERE. Imagine Cast Members having to scrape up gum each and every night! If you insist on chewing gum, be sure to pack some in your bag before you leave home, or you’ll be out of luck.

“Shot glasses”
Alcoholic beverages are available all around Disney World, but when it comes to drinkware sold in the parks and resorts, they have opted to keep things a little more family-friendly in their labeling. If you were to purchase a “shot glass” (of which there are several to buy in the parks), it’ll actually ring up as a toothpick holder, or in some cases miniature glassware. But you won’t find a sign that says “Shot glasses for sale” anywhere at Disney World!

Newspapers
Now, this next item isn’t exactly forbidden, but it is still very, very hard to find!! Disney World wants all of their guests to forget about the everyday troubles and news of the “outside world,” so they actually do not sell the newspaper! Typically, you’ll have to head somewhere like a Club Level lounge at one of the Deluxe hotels to pick up the day’s paper.

Adults wearing costumes or Halloween masks
Some level of “cosplaying” is okay as well as “bounding” as a character, since it typically only involves regular street clothes to put together a look inspired by a character. However, Halloween costumes for adults and children above the age of 14 are permitted only during Halloween events. Note that Disney’s official dress policy does state that “All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.” However, Halloween or character masks of any kind may not be worn.

Marvel characters (mostly!)
Finally, you’ll have a hard time finding most Marvel characters in Disney World. While there are plenty of Marvel superheroes to be found these days at Disney California Adventure on the west coast, back on the east cost Disney is under tighter restrictions on how they can use their Marvel characters in theme parks (those rights largely belong to Universal). So, don’t expect to see Captain America greeting guests in Disney World anytime soon!
