The Original Disney Store Is Permanently Closing Soon

Earlier this year, Disney announced that it was closing 20% of its Disney Stores in a move that would focus the company’s retail efforts towards online shopping.

Many of these closures were set to happen by the end of the year, and we’ve already started to see many Disney Stores being affected. Previously, there were at least 300 stores worldwide, with at least 60 stores scheduled for closure located in the U.S.

Now, the original Disney Store, the first one that ever opened, will be closing its doors. The Disney Store in Glendale, California will cease operations on or before July 14th.

Guests are encouraged to find another Disney Store location or to shop for their Disney gear online at shopDisney. However, with the first Disney Store in existence being shuttered, it feels like the end of an era.
