Single Rider Option Now Available for Select Universal Orlando Rides!

Last year a number of things changed at theme parks like Universal Orlando due to the pandemic, including the unavailability of single rider lines, requirements for masks and social distancing, and more.

But Things Are Changing!

But, as the situation with COVID-19 has developed, we’ve seen a number of changes made in the parks. Universal Orlando recently reduced its social distancing guidelines from 6 feet to 3 feet, and temperature checks were removed. Now, we’re seeing a big change when it comes to single rider lines!

When we visited Universal Orlando recently, we noticed that single rider lines at several attractions throughout the park were now OPEN. For example, over at Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, the single rider line was open and available for guests to use.

The Single Rider Queue Was Open!

When we checked on the Universal app, however, it still noted that single rider was NOT an available option for this ride.

We also saw single rider lines open at Revenge of the Mummy

…and Rip Ride Rockit.

Single Rider Open Here Too

Again, however, on the app both of these rides showed that single rider lines were NOT available.

At Transformers: The Ride 3D the single rider line was not open when we visited.

Over at the Bourne Stuntacular we also noted that they were generally leaving  2 seats between each party, but no rows were being skipped.

A Look at the Seating

It seems like this change in terms of opening up single rider lines is gradually being made throughout the park so the app might not yet be fully updated. The team at Universal may also be testing this out for the moment before making a definitive change. During our trip today, several single rider lines were open, but that is (of course) subject to change. Be sure to check what the situation is during your trip.

Single Rider Time?

Even if the Universal Orlando app says that the single rider option is unavailable for a particular ride, if you are hoping to use the single rider line, be sure to walk to the attraction itself and see if it is open.

We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more updates on this situation and let you know what we find.
