Disney World and Universal Orlando bring a lot of people to the Orlando area every year!
And, if Orlando has become what feels like a “second home” to you (or if you call it home), there’s an entire day dedicated to celebrating the local eats and drinks — #407 Day!
According to WFTV9, #407 Day is an annual Orlando “holiday” that highlights the local restaurants and their employees by encouraging people to eat at (or take-out from) those restaurants. And, you can show your support even at Disney World!
While there are quite a few restaurants in Disney Springs that were founded in other states like Sprinkles and Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, there’s a familiar dessert shop that is local to the Orlando area — Gideon’s Bakehouse! The cookie obsession started just 30 minutes away from Disney World in Central Orlando.
So, whether you’re an Orlando local, or you’re visiting Disney World and want to support a local business on #407 Day, today is a great day to get your cookie fix! Of course, there are many other local restaurants to dine at today if you’re in the area with the total making up 57% of the tourist industry. Stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
