There have been quite a few Disney Cruise Line updates recently!

Currently, select sailings through August 10th, 2021 are suspended, though Disney did announce today that the Disney Magic would set sail in the UK this summer exclusively for UK residents. But, if you were planning for a cruise that has been canceled, Disney has released an update regarding final payments and cruise cancellations.
Now, for guests who have a cruise booked through September 2021, the final payment deadline has been extended until up to 60 days prior to setting sail. Do note that this extension applies only to those who are booked in the unrestricted stateroom categories.

Disney has also updated the cancellation fee schedule for sailings through September 2021, temporarily relaxing the policy. Now, guests who are booked in non-Suite and non-Concierge categories will have the cancellation flexibility beginning 59 days prior to the sailing date. In addition, Disney’s website states that “cancellation fees in excess of the deposit amount will temporarily begin at 59 days prior to sailing” for those who are staying in Suite and Concierge categories. Reservations for Inside, Outside, and Verandah Categories will not be refundable or transferable.

Cruise date flexibility has also been modified so guests who booked their cruise before April 30th, 2021 will be able to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to setting sail but must book on a cruise that departs prior to September 30th, 2022. This change applies to those who are currently booked for a cruise on or before September 30th, 2021.
UPDATE: One section of the Disney Cruise Line website still notes that these April/September dates apply for their cruise date flexibility policies, but another page on the Disney Cruise Line website now states “for any new or existing cruises booked prior to May 31, 2021 for sailings through October 31, 2021, you can change your sail date up to 15 days before departure.” There is a separate policy for the UK Staycation cruises.

Keep in mind that once the cruise date is changed, it cannot be undone and any cancellation fees will be deferred and applied as a minimum cancellation fee to the new sailing. Standard air cancellation fees will still apply to those who booked their tickets through Disney Cruise Line.

The last update that Disney has made is the flexible refund policy. Now, those who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days prior to the sailing date can cancel and receive a full refund without cancellation fees or change their sale date to one that departs prior to September 30th, 2022.

In addition to all of the updates to the cancellation policy, the Disney Cruise Line website now has a notice about the Disney Magic European Season. The notice states that Disney Magic sailings from Barcelona, Civitavecchia, and Dover remain suspended through August 10th, 2021 but the cruise ship will set sail in the UK for the new “staycations” that they announced earlier today.
