We’ve been THRILLED to watch new shows like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ recently.
But, now Disney is diving into the world of basketball with its latest film in production right now!
Variety has reported that Disney’s Greek Freak has continued to take shape. The upcoming film is based on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s basketball career. Newcomer Uche Agada will star as NBA player with Yetide Badaki as Antetokounmpo’s mother Vera and Dayo Okeniyi as his father Charles.
The film will debut on Disney+ as it follows the true story of Antetokounmpo’s life and family before catapulting to become a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, a five-time All Star, and NBA Defensive Player of the Year, among other titles. Arash Amel will write the film with Akin Omotoso as director, Antetokounmpo as executive producer, and Bernie Goldmann as producer.
