  1. Walt Disney created Disneyland with the overarching goal of bringing families together. Today they no longer share the experience face-to-face looking at each other, or even side-by-side looking around. Now they’re each in their own insular universe staring down toward the ground. I loathe the transition of the vast spectacle of the collective Disney experience to something you hold in your own hand. Where’s the wonder, the fun, the spontaneity? When I escape to WDW I want to leave the intrusion of my phone where it belongs: plugged into the wall back home.

  2. I know I’m one of the few out there, but I don’t own a smart phone. I have a simple flip phone where I still add minutes maybe once a year! I don’t want to be tied to a device all day long, and especially when I’m supposed to be on vacation enjoying the sights!! All the times I’ve been to Disney, it’s gotten worse. So many people pulling out their phones to record the shows, entertainment, fireworks, and missing the special moments of living in the now. It’s a shame really. But I guess when I go back on the next vacation after all this craziness, Disney will have to figure out how they’re going to handle those of us who don’t believe in living in technology all day long.

    1. Here, here! I’m totally with you on this. Disappointing that Allears is “all in” on this Disney tech thing.

  3. I absolutely hate this because I want to leave the real world behind when I’m on vacation. I don’t want to carry a phone into a theme park, I want to be hands free and care free. It’s the worst thing to ever happen for Disney IMO. Just another thing to have to carry when all you really want to do is have no bags.
