NEWS: Walt Disney World Executive Jim MacPhee Announces Retirement

The Disney Company is what it is today due to all the incredible Imagineers, Cast Members, and more who have helped make magic.

While Joe Rohde recently announced his retirement after 40 years, another member of the Disney company will also be retiring soon too.

The President of Walt Disney World Jeff Vahle posted a congratulatory message to honor Jim MacPhee, the Senior Vice President of Operations, on his upcoming retirement.

After 42 years of serving at Disney, he will be moving onto new things with his family on April 1st. Vahle provided heartwarming details in his statement, saying: “Congratulations to my friend and colleague Jim MacPhee on his upcoming retirement after 42 years of making magic at Disney. I met Jim as we prepared to open Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

He is many things—leader, innovator, friend, husband & father. He is also a beacon for what is great in our Disney heritage. He leaves behind a tremendous legacy inspiring our Cast and helping bring magic to life for our guests. Please join me in congratulating Jim and his family as they begin the next chapter of their story on April 1!”
