VIDEO! Disney Grants an Amazing RV Camper to a Family Through the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Disney has teamed up with Make-A-Wish to bring magic to kids for 40 amazing years!

Wishes Come True Blue

Recently, Disney has released a new video series called The Wish Effect to catch up with the kids who had their wishes granted! After the children were granted their wishes, Disney is now giving everyone a look at how they continue to affect their lives today.

Last year, Tali had her wish granted for a Disney Camper so she could travel with her family whenever she wanted. Tali was diagnosed back in 2018 with stage IV neuroblastoma, which is a form of childhood cancer that affects the nervous system. Now, she is a 7th grader who loves Disney and nature, as she lives in New Mexico with her family.

Juliana, Tali’s mom, said that the Disney-themed RV camper was perfect because “Tali loves nature, so a camper was not surprising. She’s very thoughtful, she loves her family, and we were very honored to be a part of her wish so we could all enjoy this together. It’s something we can cherish for many, many years to come.”

The camper is decked out in plush, Disney decor as well as a bunk bed inspired by Lilo and Stitch, which is Tali’s favorite film. Since they’ve gotten the camper, they’ve safety been able to go on adventures to places like White Sands National Park and Jemez Springs. Gabe, Tali’s dad, has said that the RV has been a blessing, since “The RV is especially nice this year because we do travel out of state for treatment periodically, and especially in this COVID-19 environment we have a home-away-from-home we can take with us.”

However, the family continues to help other families affected by cancer whenever they aren’t road-tripping. They help sell shirts to donate money to diagnosed children. Gabe noted that “The Zia symbol is symbolic of New Mexico, and the money that we raise from the t-shirts actually goes to making care packages for newly diagnosed kids in the hospital.”

While they give back to the community, they have also said they still feel the magic from their granted Wish. Juliana remarked that “A wish brings lots of hope to families like ours when you can’t plan for the future. You don’t know what might happen, so it gives us hope, gives us a bright light in a time where things are uncertain.”

Tali even summed up her experience with Disney and the Make a Wish Foundation as “magical.” Up until this point, the team has helped to grant more than 140,000 wishes to children since 1980.

We love seeing so many children and families have a bit of extra magic in their lives. And, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on more details of Disney’s community outreach!
