NEWS! Disneyland Grad Nite is Officially Canceled for 2021

Every year, Disneyland Resort hosts a Grad Nite where seniors take over the park and celebrate graduating high school.

Disneyland closed in March and is currently facing an extended closure due to the global health crisis. There have been a few indications that the park is preparing to reopen and California Adventure reopened partially for shopping and dining. However, the official reopening date and timeline is still uncertain. The Grad Nite events usually take place during the end of the school year around May and June. 2021 Grad Nites have been canceled in light of recent events.

Disney stated that the “recently released state guidelines related to theme parks put us in limbo regarding a reopening timeline in the foreseeable future, and therefore we are unable to move forward with Grad Nite 2021.” Disney World in Orlando reopened but made the decision to cancel large events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in order to avoid drawing in larger crowds. Disneyland may follow the same protocols upon reopening.

Grad Nite was also canceled for 2020 as the parks were closed during May and June this year. We’ll continue to monitor Disneyland’s future events and reopening news.

  1. I attended the Grad Night for 1999! Shows for that year we’re Britney Spears, Reel Big Fish and Sister Hazel. Unfortunately, I only remember Britney’s performance. I think all the attendees were watching her performance. It was great! The day after Grad Night we went on a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. Man, the memories! Our class was the last class to have overnight senior trips due to the pictures that surfaced of that trip. Haha
