Last month, California Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled the state’s reopening guidance for both large and small theme parks. Smaller theme parks may reopen once their home county reaches the Orange Tier, while larger theme parks like Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood must wait until their home county reaches the Yellow Tier.
Orange County Register has reported that the first California amusement park will reopen soon under these new guidelines.
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will officially reopen on Saturday, November 7th.Santa Cruz County entered the Orange Tier last week.
When they reopen, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk will only be available to those living in Santa Cruz County. In addition, tickets must be purchased in advance and reservations will be divided into two sessions: Noon to 2PM and 3PM to 5PM.
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is considered a smaller theme park. Based on the state’s guidance, small theme parks are those with capacities of fewer than 15,000 guests.
