First we got a new trailer for The Mandalorian, then a first look at WandaVision, both coming to Disney+. And now, we’ve got more news on an upcoming Star Wars series!

Deadline has reported that Disney+ is preparing to begin production on the anticipated Rogue One spinoff series without the original director Tony Gilroy.

For the first three episodes Gilroy will instead be replaced as director by Toby Haynes, who has an extensive Directing CV for series including Black Mirror, Sherlock and Doctor Who. Haynes was already slated to direct future episodes, and his location in the UK made him an easy choice for this last minute replacement.

Gilroy, who received an Oscar nomination in 2008 for his work on the film Michael Clayton, and directed The Bourne Legacy, will stay on as showrunner and executive producer.

The Rogue One Series will follow Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) and K-2SO (voiced by Alan Tudyk) through the early days of the rebellion.
