These monsters are working with the Dole Food Company to show kids that fruits and vegetables are fun!

Fruits and veggies may not be a kid’s first choice for a snack or a meal. But, Dole has teamed up with Disney for a new “Fruit and Veggies Don’t Have To Be Scary” campaign. The goal? Dole wants to make trying new foods less intimidating for children.

“Even the beloved pineapple, the fruit at the very heart of Dole and the universal symbol for aloha and hospitality, can strike fear in those tasked with having to cut and serve one,” said Dole’s director of communications William Goldfield.

But, how can Disney help make foods like horned melon, artichokes, Brussel sprouts, and dragonfruit more tempting for kids? By making it fun, of course! How about adding some fun decorations to a new fruit or veggie? Dress it up like you would Toy Story’s Mr. Potato Head!

Dole has added stickers of Mike and Sully on millions of its bananas and pineapples in supermarkets around the United States and Canada. And, after you go grocery shopping, you can try some of the brand new “Monsters in the Kitchen” recipes on the Dole/Disney recipe site! Maybe the kids can help you make this Sully Banana Dip!
