In 2018, Disney announced that they would be building a new nature-inspired resort on the old site of River Country, set to be named Reflections — A Disney Lakeside Lodge.
Originally set for a 2022 reopening date, updates on the project have been quiet as of late. And now, rumors are circulating that the project may not be happening at all.
According to WDW Magic, various sources have reported that construction has been permanently cancelled for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. These sources have reported that the work that has been done so far will be removed, and the site will return to its “pre-construction state”.
Currently, Disney has given no official updates for the project, and reports of its cancellation are all still only rumored at this point. We will continue to update with any further developments!
