As Florida has starting to move towards a future Phase Two of its re-opening plan, theme parks, stadiums, and more have considered ways to re-open to guests.

And, although the Orange County Convention Center had plans to host one of the biggest volleyball tournaments in the nation in June, the plans have now been postponed.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the 47th AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships have been moved from mid-June to July 14th.

A joint statement between the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States and the Orange County Convention Center stated that the tournament would continue when there is less of a health and safety concern. Their decision was influenced “upon further conversation, and taking into consideration the ongoing findings of the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.”

The AAU President and CEO Roger Goudy assured everyone that they would be doing whatever they needed to in order to abide by “necessary containment and mitigation measures in place.” Before the event was postponed, there were plans set up for temperature checks, mask requirements, seat distancing, and more.
