May the Fourth be with you! It’s Star Wars Day, and while the parks are closed, that doesn’t mean Batuu is deserted!
Rebecca Campbell and Josh D’Amaro, presidents of Disneyland and Walt Disney World respectively, have travelled to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to pay tribute to the franchise that has brought three generations to a galaxy far, far away.
Campbell’s photo pays tribute to the teams working hard to keep the Disney Parks safe and functional during this extended closure, making sure they’re running in top condition when we can finally return to Black Spire Outpost. Security, maintenance, animal care — a lot goes into keeping the magic alive during this difficult time, and Campbell chose this moment to pay tribute to all of the Cast Members working hard during these uncertain days.
D’Amaro’s tribute takes a more contemplative tone. Standing in a silent Batuu, D’Amaro pays tribute to the Cast Members as well, while imploring readers to stay safe.
It’s nice to catch a glimpse of our home away from Earth on this most Star Wars of days. So, May the Fourth be with you too, Disney. Let’s hope we can fly back and rejoin the fight against the First Order soon!
