Josh D’Amaro And Cast Members Bring Some Magic Back To Hollywood Studios For Its Birthday!

It’s eerily quiet right now in the Disney World parks during the closure. Normally these places are bumping and popping with music that makes us feel like we’ve been transported to another reality, but with no one in the parks there’s no need to get the band stirred up.

Hooray for Hollywood!

Today is a special day though, because today is Hollywood Studios‘ 31st birthday. Originally opening on May 1st, 1989 as Disney MGM-Studios, this park-wide tribute to the movies sits empty right now. No one should be alone on their birthday, so Walt Disney World President Josh D’Amaro decided to make this day special for the park even while it’s closed.

D’Amaro posted a special video to his Instagram from within the park itself. With the help of David from Engineering Services, D’Amaro flipped the switch and brought the classic big band music from Hollywood Boulevard back online!

Although it was only on for a brief moment, hearing the music swelling inside the park on this special day reminds us that someday (hopefully soon) we’ll be able to enjoy magic moments like these at Hollywood Studios and the rest of Disney World again!
