The 2020 NFL Draft Was the Most Watched EVER!

The 2020 NFL Draft was certainly different than years past. For one, it took place mostly virtually, as prospects and team representatives maintained spatial distancing precautions.

But, that’s not the only difference that this year’s draft held.

The 2020 NFL Draft has the distinction of being the most watched NFL Draft ever. Over the course of the three-day event, the 2020 NFL Draft reached a total of 55 million viewers, which is a 35% increase over the max viewership the tuned in for the 2019 NFL Draft.

An average audience of 8.4 million people watched all three days, with day one reaching a high of 15.6 million people.

Speaking of the high numbers, ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro had this to say. “This year’s NFL Draft clearly took on a much greater meaning and it’s especially gratifying for ESPN to have played a role in presenting this unique event to a record number of NFL fans while supporting the league’s efforts to give back. The success of this year’s Draft is a testament to the unprecedented collaboration across the NFL, ESPN, and The Walt Disney Co. in the midst of such a challenging time.”
