Fortnite, the game that taught your children how to do “The Floss,” is getting another Star Wars crossover! Previously, fans of the game could get an Imperial Stormtrooper skin with the purchase of Jedi: Fallen Order in the Epic Games Store.

But on December 14, Fortnite will be host to an exclusive Star Wars preview event, complete with some in-game swag!
The event, which will take place at the Risky Reels area of the map, is an exclusive preview of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, featuring never-before-seen footage! Access to the event is completely free; you just need a Fortnite account. The event will be hosted by director J.J. Abrams,

If you need some more incentives, every attendee will receive their own TIE Whisper glider, so you can make your jump into battle with some First Order-inspired flare. Check out the footage below!
Finally, if you’ve got some extra V-Bucks and really want to rep your Star Wars pride, there are some exclusive skins for sale at the in-game store. Perhaps you want to claim a Victory Royale as Finn or Rey. Or maybe you want to embrace the Dark Side as a Sith Trooper while you knock people’s builds out from underneath them and watch them plummet to their doom. Other cosmetics include banners and back-bling inspired by the Resistance, the First Order, and the Jedi, a pickaxe inspired by Rey’s quarterstaff, and even an emote inspired by the iconic “Traitor!” scene from The Force Awakens. The new cosmetics are available now!

This isn’t the first time that Disney and Epic have collaborated to promote a major film. In 2018, players scrambled for the Infinity Gauntlet and wielded Thanos’s devastating powers to promote Avengers: Infinity War. Earlier this year, Thanos and his Chitauri warriors returned to promote Avengers: Endgame, while players hunted for weapons inspired by Marvel’s most iconic heroes to take them down!

Fortnite also isn’t the only game getting involved in some Star Wars fun. The Sims 4 has recently added a Baby Yoda statue.

It doesn’t do much, but it will sit in your house looking adorable while you dress your Sims in Boba Fett, Princess Leia, and Twi’lek inspired outfits.

Fortnite is available basically everywhere at this point. You can find it on PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Playstation 4, and the Nintendo Switch. The Sims 4 is available on PC, Mac, PS4, and Xbox One.
You can also watch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker for real on December 20th. Get your tickets here, and don’t forget to leave a comment about this intergalactic cross-over!
