D23 Expo attendees got to watch a special trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker over the weekend, and it created quite a buzz! The big question that arises is: are we going to see Rey go to the Dark Side?
In the newly released poster we see Rey with a blue lightsaber — but near the end of the trailer we see her with a red lightsaber.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker brings the nine-film Star Wars story to a conclusion when it lands in theaters on December 20. Stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, and Billie Lourd are returning to the film. Expect to see Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams again as they appear in the roles of Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and Lando Calrissian respectively. Through the use of previously unused footage from Star Wars: The Force Awakens Carrie Fisher, who passed away in 2016, will also appear in the film.
