Does the floor descend or does the ceiling rise in the Haunted Mansion’s Portrait Chamber (also known as the stretching room) at Walt Disney World?
Thank you for all who responded. The answer is the ceiling rises at Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. It lowers at Disneyland.
Roof goes up at Disney World, almost entire room is elevator going down, except for top part with portraits and ceiling, at DL.
Ceiling goes up in Disney World, floor goes down in Disneyland
The floor decends
Scott replies: No, it rises at WDW. Descends at DL.
The ceiling rises. Although we were just in Disneyland, and I think they are the opposite, but I wasn’t sure. Do you know?
Thanks for all the great pictures!
Scott replies: You are correct. At Disneyland, the floor lowers.
Hi Scott –
The ceiling goes up!
– Jeff
At WDW, the ceiling rises. At DL, the floor lowers.
Hi Scott,
At Walt Disney World , the ceiling rises while guests remain on the same level.
It does both – descend and rise.
