Disney Pic of the Week: Animals

Photographic Innoventions by Scott Thomas

There are all kinds of animals in Disney themeparks. Some are real like in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and some are not real like the entertaining audio-animatronic animals found on the Jungle Cruise in the Magic Kingdom. Guests can even meet their favorite Disney animated animals like Baloo the Bear and King Louie from the Jungle Book and many others.

What are your favorite animals in a Disney themepark?

Last December during an AllEars.net photowalk at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we came upon this relaxing hippopotamus underwater on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.

  1. Scott:
My family likes the animals in Splash Mountain. I see from your picture that the hippo still has his passenger on his back. There was a bird on his back when we were there last year.

Scott replies: Good eyes, Steve. I tried to take a split photo of the hippo and bird but the glass was way too dirty. Those Brer animals on Splash Mountain sure are entertaining.

  2. We like the Flights of Wonder, and all the birds around the Tree of Life.

Scott replies: The trails around the Tree of Life are one of those overlooked areas I love to wander around. Flights of Wonder has a lot of great photo ops during and at the end of the show when they bring out the birds on stage for people to see and photograph.
