More than two hundred and fifty people knew that jack-o-lantern is part of Walt Disney’s Carousel of … Continue reading "Where in the World #68"

Out for a Speedway Drive

Posted on
For some strange reason I have rarely experienced the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. Maybe it’s because I keep calling it Autopia and none of my WDW-loving friends know what I’m talking about. I guess I just lost a point on the WDW Fanatic Measuring System. It’s rather difficult to take photos while driving, trust me on … Continue reading "Out for a Speedway Drive"

Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom Part 1

I just got back from vacation. A portion of my trip was spent visiting the Disneyland Resort in California. For those of you who have read my bio, you know that I grew up in Anaheim and visited Disneyland often during my childhood. When I turned eighteen I got a job at the Blue Bayou … Continue reading "Disneyland vs. Magic Kingdom Part 1"

Tomorrowland – Tokyo Disneyland

Posted on
Much of the architecture of Tokyo’s Tomorrowland is stuck in the 80’s. Actually, it’s stuck in the 70’s as it was copied after the Magic Kingdom at WDW – which was designed in the ’60’s. In other words, there are areas here that could definitely use a face lift like they did to the Tomorrowlands … Continue reading "Tomorrowland – Tokyo Disneyland"

Hong Kong Tomorrowland & Disney on Parade

Posted on
The last land I will be talking about at Hong Kong Disneyland is Tomorrowland. Like Fantasyland, it feels small compared to other parks. The first attraction I’ll be discussing it Orbitron. This is your typical, hub and spoke space ride. What sets this attraction apart from its cousins in other Disney parks is that you … Continue reading "Hong Kong Tomorrowland & Disney on Parade"

Here we go again, another set of pictures taken in January, 1972. These first two pictures were taken of the Indy Speedway from the Skyway. My Bonus Trip to Walt Disney World – Part 3

Lee decided he was going to stick around the room for a while this morning and do work stuff – he had a bunch of email that had come in over the last couple of days that he was working through. And since he *is* working this week, unlike some of us… I showed him … Continue reading "My Bonus Trip to Walt Disney World – Part 3"

Weekday Fun at Disneyland and DCA

Posted on
Out-of-town friends gave me the excuse to play hooky from work one afternoon last week and spend some time at Disney’s California Adventure and Disneyland. And I thought I’d share a few observations. My friend AK and I attended the Miner Family Wine Tasting Seminar at DCA’s Food and Wine Festival. I was pleased to … Continue reading "Weekday Fun at Disneyland and DCA"

Blog Follow-ups

I thought I’d post some follow-ups to a couple of previous blog entries. Last week I wrote about the new House of the Future, coming to Disneyland in May. (That blog entry can be found HERE.) One thing the article didn’t mention is that it was going in on the ground floor of Innoventions. We … Continue reading "Blog Follow-ups"
