Review of Disney Quest

This was our second trip that we made time to visit Disney quest and our kids love it, especially our 10 year old son. It was great just to give them a few hours to basically do whatever they wanted in the building and not have to worry. Our artistic 14 year old daughter spent most of her time on the "creativity" area where she could draw and even take drawing lessons on the computer. We had fun on each floor and the kids especially enjoyed the "old" arcade games on the 5th floor and the newer games on the first floor. There were even some interactive raft and pirate games that we could play as a family. We had water park tickets so Disney quest was included in our tickets.

Pros:

nice break from parks

Cons:

people hogging games

Review of Chefs de France - Lunch/Dinner

Our family of 4 ate here on our last day in Disney for lunch. I'm always leery about trying the ethnic restaurants with my family as 2 members are somewhat picky. I have to say that this was probably our favorite meal of the trip. Everyone tried something new and really enjoyed their meal. The desserts were the highlight although pretty pricy at 8.99 each. My 14 year old daughter is in her first year of French class and the waiter was very engaging and tried to encourage her to speak French. The downside was the noise level seemed especially loud and it made it very difficult to understand the waiter as he had an accent and we were trying to hear him over the noise. we would definitely return to Les Chefs de France in the future.

Pros:

waiter was great

Cons:

very loud

Review of Typhoon Lagoon

We visited Typhoon Lagoon on March 18 when the high temp for the day was only in the 70's but the water is heated so it didn't bother us. It felt like we almost had the park to ourselves! The wave pool is huge and a lot of fun for our 14 year old daughter and 10 year old son. The staff at Typhoon lagoon was very friendly and told us that the water parks can vary in attendance but it is generally low when the high temp is below 80 or the morning is cool. We definitely recommend visiting the water parks at Disney as these are a couple of our sons favorite places to visit.

Pros:

wave pool is amazing

Cons:

concrete rough in lazy river

Review of Blizzard Beach

The highlight of my 10 year old son was Blizzard Beach. He wanted to get there at 10 when they opened and we were there until 5 when they closed. He absolutely loves the "zip line" in the ski camp area. We went on March 21 and the temp that day was about 80. THe park was not crowded at all and there weren't any waits for the water slides. One of the lifeguards said that the water parks usually aren't crowded on days with highs below 80 or cool in the morning which worked out great for us. The water is heated to a comfortable temperature so the cool morning didn't bother us.

Pros:

wasnt crowded

Cons:

needs to be open longer hours

Very convenient and great customer service. We saved a lot of money by having breakfast in our room and bottles of water to take to the parks. Items delivered on time and they followed up with phone calls. We will definitely use this service again

Pros:

it was great

Cons:

Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

Reviewed by roneeh Review Date: 03/25/2014

Our family of 4 stayed in a royal room which the 14 year old daughter and 10 year old son loved. The decorating was very nice and really felt "royal", they were fascinated with the lights on the headboard. The queen beds were a huge plus to kids who are used to having their own beds and now had to share. My son enjoyed swimming in the main pool but we could never seem to get in the hot tub as it was always really crowded, the quiet pool was very nice but water was cooler. The main downside we encountered was the bus stops to and from the parks always seemed to be very crowded for port Orleans and a lot of times Riverside and French Quarter shared the stop. The other problem we had was the refridgerator in the room had a broken knob and ended up freezing all the food we had delivered from garden grocer. The boat to downtown Disney was a nice change to the busses but also had a wait depending on the time of day. All in all we liked Riverside resort and especially the royal rooms and would stay again

Pros:

beautiful layout

Cons:

food court and bus stops busy

Review of FastPass+ (Retired)

I liked the old way of obtaining fast passes, hopefully there will be some changes to the new system. What I observed is if you decide at the last minute to go to Disney ( march 13th - 18th ) your fast pass times are not that great. That happened to us. We decided at the last minute to go, and our options were either very early morning or late in the day, and then our choices were not at close together times so we spent a lot of time roaming all over the park just to get our fast passes in. Then you have to have dining reservations and you want to make sure there is time for both. I don't understand why getting a park hopper is worth the extra cost anymore because you can only get fast passes for one park per day, and when it comes time to picking out your passes your choice is usually one popular ride and 2 others that usually don't have that long of a wait time to begin with. Before, all you had to worry about was making dining reservations, now it's fast pass too and I think the spontaneity is gone. I think Disney needs to revamp their method.

Pros:

having a fast pass before you leave home

Cons:

I know this is a park location but we were very unhappy with this choice. The food was barely edible. The servers never even cracked a smile ....we felt like we were intruding on there time just being there. Will not pick this location for a meal again.

Pros:

location

Cons:

nothing to get excited about
