Disney Planning Not Two, But Three New Ships

Disney fans attending D23 Expo in Anaheim were the first to hear that Disney Cruise Line is planning not two, but three new ships in the next phase of expansion. Last year, it was announced that two new ships were going to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany with scheduled completion dates of 2021 and 2023. This additional ship will be built at the same shipyard and is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

During a special preview of D23 Expo 2017, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled a first look at the epic, richly detailed model of the Star Wars-themed lands under development at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif. and Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla. This stunning exhibition, on display in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts' "A Galaxy of Stories" pavilion at D23 Expo, is yet another example of the breathtaking new worlds, immersive storytelling and transformational guest experiences that set Disney apart. Applications Now Open for Disney Dreamers Academy Class of 2018

High school students can now apply at DisneyDreamersAcademy.com to be among 100 selected to participate in the mentoring program known as the Disney Dreamers Academy with Steve Harvey and ESSENCE. Applications from students all over the country will be accepted through October 31, 2017, for this series of immersive career workshops that will take place in March 2018 at Walt Disney World.
