REVIEW: We Spent $20 on ONE Snack at Universal Kids Resort and It Was Worth Every Penny

Universal Kids Resort opens on July 1st, but we got an early sneak peek! We were super excited to check out all of the park’s brand-new lands, but to be honest, you know what we’re really here for – the food!

Let’s eat some fun treats!

When we were looking through the menus at Universal Kids Resort, several menu items caught our eye. So we tried them, and we want to talk about it!

Let’s start in Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, which is all about it…you guessed it…Minions! So we had to visit Bello Bay Bites for the Bello Bay Mac & Cheese Cone. This is creamy golden macaroni & cheese inside a garlic sauce bread cone with a Minion tart for $14.99. This cone is a lot of fun, but we still think it needs more flavor. The cone itself is great with a buttery garlic flavor, and the mac and cheese is fine. It’s also made fresh, so you get it when it’s still hot. At the end of the day, though, it’s just mac & cheese in a bread cone with a tater tot. It’s simple, but kids will definitely love it.

We also had a bit of a meal over at Puss in Boots Del Mar at Comidas y Leche. We started with the Big Jack Horner’s Wrap made with seasoned ground beef, refried beans, Tostitos nacho cheese sauce, corn tostada, and tomatoes and lettuce wrapped in a flour tortilla with crispy tots for $12.99. This is basically a more homemade and fresher version of Taco Bell’s Crunch Wrap, and we are here for it. The Tostitos nacho cheese sauce is a standout, too, but all the flavors just work. The tater tots aren’t anything special, but we would come back for the wrap.

We couldn’t resist the Churritos and Chocolate for $6.99. These are fried churros tossed with cinnamon sugar and served with chocolate sauce. These are basic theme park churros (but not as good as Disneyland’s). They are sweet and tasty, though, and hit the spot when you want a sweet treat, especially when you dunk them in chocolate sauce. There are better, more unique snacks in the park, though, so we’d probably have those instead.

To drink, we got the Puss in Bootsicle, which is Fanta orange, vanilla cream syrup, topped with sweet cream cold foam and orange sprinkles for $7.99. This was VERY fun. It’s sweet AND tart, and tastes like a Creamsicle, so you get all those flavors combined. Technically, this is more dessert than drink, so you might want to share it.

We couldn’t leave without getting a treat from SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. So we headed over to Goofy Goober’s to get the Triple Gooberberry Sunrise. Now, the menu read that this is supposed to have vanilla and chocolate ice cream, strawberry DOLE Whip, and chocolate fudge with crushed smore’s cookies crumble and strawberry Pop-Tarts pieces, whipped topping, banana, and a cherry on top for $19.99. But we ended up with a treat that had chunks of brownies and M&Ms in it, so we think we were given the wrong flavors for it. But we still got the cool container it comes in, which is SO much fun!

Triple Gooberberry Sunrise…but not, really

However, this is still good ice cream (that will melt fast), but as we walked around with it, EVERYONE was eyeing it because it’s that cool. It’s delicious, kids will love it, but it will melt all over you, so have wet wipes handy.

We’re having so much fun trying all of the yummy food at Universal Kids Resort. Stay tuned to AllEars for more food reviews!
