Sneak Peek at Princess Leia — Coming Soon to Disneyland!

We’re approaching the best time of the year for Star Wars fans!

Star Wars Day is May the 4th, and Disney is gearing up for the big day with lots of celebrations. We typically see new merchandise and exclusive snacks in the parks, but this year, Disneyland Resort is getting a big change in time for the holiday!

We already got a sneak peek of Han Solo coming to Disneyland soon, but now, we’ve got a first look at his other half! That’s right, Leia Organa will be available for meet-and-greets in Disneyland starting on April 29th.

Star Wars revealed the news in a video on TikTok and Instagram, showing a sneak peek of Leia in her rebellion gear. She’ll be meeting in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park.

This is part of a major change to Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland that kicks off April 29th. Starting that day, the canon of the land will be expanded to include characters and IP from all eras of Star Wars. Previously, the land was limited to a timeline in the Star Wars sequel films with Kylo Ren and Rey as the primary characters.

Now, guests will encounter characters and storylines spanning The Galactic Civil War, The New Republic era, The Age of the Resistance, and The First Order. We know that the list of characters includes Darth Vader and  Luke Skywalker, but Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Chewbacca will also appear, joined by Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian, Grogu, Rey, R2-D2, and Kylo Ren.

This change was only announced for Batuu West (AKA the Galaxy’s Edge location at Disneyland). That means that for now, Disney World’s version will continue with its sequel film timeline. Though you can meet Darth Vader elsewhere in Hollywood Studios, there.
