Heads Up! The Disney World App Just CHANGED

The Disney World app just changed, and well, maybe it’s not for the best.

The My Disney Experience app will likely be your rock. It’s where you can book dining reservations, find times for shows and fireworks, check how long the wait times are, and even find your photos from your trip. This new change has us questioning whether the update is making life easier or harder.

Firstly, we noticed a visual change. The layout looks a lot cleaner and a bit more modern. Versus one big list, it really looks like a bunch of individual items.

Here’s what it looked like before.

Where things got a little questionable is the search. Typically, you can search for rides, restaurants, characters, and more, but now…it’s a little funky. We found that the search isn’t really working well, even for those who didn’t update their app. For example, when we searched “Frozen,” Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party, Disney After Hours, and Jollywood Nights all came up before the attraction Frozen Ever After.

Typically, Frozen Ever After would come up first, along with Frozen Sing Along and even the meet and greets like Elsa, Anna, and Olaf. When you’re searching for Frozen, these are probably the items that should come up first!

When we searched “chicken tenders,” Chicken Guy! came up first, which is a good one considering their whole restaurant is based on chicken tenders, but then it started listing other restaurants that might have chicken tenders but aren’t typically what you’re looking for. Places like Cosmic Ray’s and Columbia Harbour House, or other in-park locations, popped up, which again, is probably what you’re looking for.

We searched again, and this time, only Disney Springs hotels came up! Weird!

Hopefully, Disney updates the search again so we can find things a little easier, but in the meantime, make sure you keep following AllEars for all the tips and tricks you need to know before going on your Disney World trip.
