A popular Disney World resort just had to be evacuated today!
When it comes to a Disney World vacation, it’s smart to always expect the unexpected. However, nothing could have prepared guests at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort to evacuate today.

Guests had to be evacuated from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge today, due to a fire alarm going off.
Among the guests, Cast Members also had to be evacuated. Cast Members also handed out water and went around making sure all the guests were okay.
A fire truck also showed up at the scene.
Our reporter on the scene spoke to a Cast Member shortly after the evacuation. The Cast Member said they are wrapping up the issue and expect to open the buildings again soon. It seems like a small technical issue, and that the building is safe to return to. Woohoo for a quick return!
If you’re staying at the Wilderness Lodge, you’ll want to be aware that the docks at Wilderness Lodge are now closed for refurbishment. The closure began today, on January 12th, and will last through April 2026. This will be a temporary routine maintenance that often takes place at the docks. This means no more taking the boat to Magic Kingdom and back for a little while.
That being said, the boat that will take guests from the resort to Magic Kingdom and back will only be closed from January 12th through January 30th. If you are staying at the hotel during that time frame, you’ll have to take a bus to Magic Kingdom instead. Otherwise, you can take the boat as usual. This also applies to the boat that goes to Fort Wilderness Resort.
