Heads up, y’all — it looks like Disney could be making some big changes to Disney+ in the future!

This morning, Disney had its Q4 earnings call, during which the company updates the public and its shareholders about the current state of the company, important numbers, and sometimes, new things that could be on the horizon. During this morning’s call, CEO Bob Iger hinted that there are some big changes coming to Disney+, and we’re interested to see how the public will react.
Bob Iger had previously mentioned in the call that Disney+ would be a portal to all things Disney. During the Q&A section, Iger was asked to clarify what that meant and how it would act as a roadmap to how subscribers would be able to engage with parks and other assets on the app.

Bob Iger did go into detail then, stating that Disney is in the process of rolling out the biggest and most significant changes in terms of products, but is also working to create greater personalization and a more dynamic product. As they’re currently working to integrate Hulu into Disney+, they’re looking to create a one-app experience.

By using AI, Disney+ can turn into a portal to all things Disney, which would mean we could see opportunities for commerce, as well as engagement for people to go to the parks and on Disney cruises. It could also open up opportunities for games and partnerships with EPIC game integration.

One of the things that really caught our ear was that Iger said he was excited about AI providing users with an engaged experience, including the opportunity to create and consume user-generated content from others — basically, shortform content that you often see on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Does that mean you could see our AllEars shortform content on Disney+ someday? We’ll have to see!

This is all still very vague for now, but we’ll certainly be keeping our eyes peeled and ears listening for all the new information coming out about this update, because it could really change the way we use Disney+!
