There is so much happening in Animal Kingdom, we think the park is in a phase of “figuring itself out”.

There’s a lot of construction with walls as far as the eye can see! This also means there are lots of permanent closures, including several restaurants. This also means a lot of our favorite snacks have had to find new homes, like the Buffalo Chicken Chips that can now be found at Eight Spoons Cafe! They are looking pretty different these days, but do they taste the same? Let’s find out together!
Animal Kingdom is seriously underrated, especially when it comes to the food there! The buffalo chicken chips were a prime example of that at Trilo-Bites in DinoLand. That spot, along with Dino Bite Snacks, has permanently closed, forcing these tasty chips to find a new home.

That’s when Eight Spoons Cafe comes in! The chips are now kettle chips served with buffalo chicken, topped with tangy Italian relish and blue cheese for $10.49.

The first big change we noticed is the chips! Previously, they were crunchy kettle chips, but these new chips remind us more of a Lays chip. They still hold up the toppings really well, but we still needed a fork to grab all of that topping. (Which isn’t always a bad thing!) We will say, some of them got pretty soggy under all of the toppings and sauce.

The chicken had a nice Buffalo flavor, which had a tiny bit of spice but not an overwhelming heat. Our reporter, who put them to the test, doesn’t love spice, and they felt like the chicken had just the right amount. The white sauce across the chips is the blue cheese, which paired incredibly well with the buffalo flavors. The chicken was tender and pulled apart easily, plus there was a decent amount on top.
