5 Things We’re Literally Begging Disney Adults To Stop Doing in Disneyland

Please, please, please DON’T do these things at Disneyland!

Haunted Mansion in Disneyland

Disney Adults and Disneyland go together like peanut butter and jelly. Frankly, it’s a relationship that’s worked for decades. With that said, we have a bone to pick with a few Disney Adults who commit these Disneyland sins.

Right off the bat, I want to make it clear that most Disney Adults I encounter during my Disneyland park days are super respectful and on their best behavior. However, there have been some notable exceptions.

Reciting Ride Lines Out Loud

The first thing that grinds our gears is when Disney Adults recite the Ghost Host’s lines in the stretching room on the Haunted Mansion.

Haunted Mansion Holiday

I don’t really understand why Disney Adults do this. No one is particularly impressed with the line memory. In fact, it can be especially hindering for someone experiencing the ride for the first time.

One recommendation I have to any seasoned Disneyland pro is to remember that it’s always someone’s first trip, and the kindest thing you can do is help them have the best experience possible.

Harassing Characters

Another Disney Adult behavior we want to call out is harassing characters. Now, this faux pas is certainly limited to a minority of Disney Adults, but it should be addressed, nevertheless.

Say hello to Sabine!

We’ve seen instances of guests bugging characters on video, trying to incite a viral reaction. Not cool, dude. Not cool.

It’s totally okay to give in to the moment a bit and play along with a character. But keep it respectful, y’all!

Rude Behavior

Which brings us to the next thing that we’d like to see go: Rude behavior. Disney Adulthood can come with a sense of entitlement because — let’s face it — Disney Adults have essentially earned their Disney stripes.

Sleeping Beauty Castle

Kindness is what Disneyland should be all about, and treating everyone (Cast Members and guests alike) with compassion, kindness, and generosity makes the Disneyland experience one thousand times better for everyone.

Merch Hogging

We’d also like to see merch hogging stop. This behavior is something only a select few do, but there are notable collection hogs that come to the parks on the day something new drops, buy as many of an item as they’re legally allowed to, and then dip.

A LONG line

Maybe they resell the merch, or maybe they just collect. Either way, they take a limited item away from a kid or a fan — and it honestly stinks. We’d like to see more mindfulness when it comes to buying limited souvenirs.

Be Responsible at DCA

Finally, we want to stress being responsible at Disney California Adventure.

Disney California Adventure

Finding alcoholic beverages here is pretty easy, which means it’s also easy to get sick or get in trouble.

We think it’s super important to stay hydrated, snack and stay well-fed, and pace yourself. It’s never a bad idea to make sure you’re always in control and never in danger of suffering from dehydration.

Carthay Circle

We’ve been going to Disneyland on a regular basis for decades now, and while these behaviors are noticeable, they certainly ARE NOT the norm. Most Disney Adults are kind and looking to enjoy Disneyland just like everyone else. If this is you, thank you for representing THE BEST of the Disney fandom!

  1. Please be considerate with your little ones. I understand their excitement, I have kids too. But on my last trip on It’s a Small world ” the woman directly in back of me allowed her little ones to scream, at the top of their lungs, joyfully albeit, in my only good ear the entire ride. And she allowed it. Worst part of my day. Ruined the experience.

  2. I wish people who are not disabled and families would not use the handicap bathroom stalls. I didn’t realize how important it was, until I became disabled. If you have kids with you in the restroom, use the ‘companion’ restroom. That’s what they are for. I waited for a lady to get out, because she was changing clothes on her child, who got wet on a water ride. When I suggested she use the companion restroom, she said it was locked & she’d have to wait. My response: “you mean the way I had to wait for you?”
