I know what you’re thinking… “really? Some of Disney World’s best food can be found at a bowling alley?” and we’re clapping back with a resounding YES! Disney World’s got a lot of great restaurants where they’ve been able to keep some of the best dishes hidden away from those who aren’t looking too hard. But trust us when we say, you’ll only need to eat one dish here to make you a believer and never skip it again.

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Disney Springs and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
Tucked within the West Side of Disney Springs, you might have a hard time ignoring Splitsville Luxury Lanes. It’s massive multi-story building with all the retro appeal draws folks in droves daily to step inside and check out all that it has to offer.

And when we say this place is like stepping into a time capsule, we mean it! It’s about as nostalgic as it gets for a Disney World restaurant.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
Once inside you’ll be immediately drawn to it’s towering scale and likely hear the “striking” sounds of folks enjoying the multiple bowling lanes just a few steps in.

There’s plenty of seating to be found here and for parties of all sizes. Whether you prefer traditional booths and tables…

…or barside seating! Yep — this place is really like a nostalgic pub hangout. Here you can enjoy Splitsville’s 30 bowling lanes, 3 billiard tables, and 5 bars, including outside patio and balcony.

But what folks really get hung up on is you don’t have to bowl to dine here (or vice versa), but you certainly CAN do both with the proper reservations! What you really should know about this place though is just how good it’s eats are. Here you’ll expect to find a wide array of cocktails, mixed drinks, beers, wines, burgers, pizza, sushi, and more.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the Loaded Fries for $16. This is made of crinkle cut fries smothered with queso blanco, bacon, ranch, scallions and love. It’s actually so big the restaurant recommends sharing this between two people or more.

On the menu, this is listed as “serves two or more” and we can totally see why — it’s MASSIVE! You’ll want to dig into them right away so the queso doesn’t make the fries overly soggy, but we loved these! These were all toppings (except maybe minus the scallions) that we would normally dip things in anyway, so this was a great combination of all those flavors. However, if you’ll also be ordering an entree, we recommend asking for a different side that’s NOT fries, since you’ll have just tackled this MOUNTAIN.

We also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try out some of the sushi here so we grabbed the Volcano Roll for $20. This is made of tempura shrimp rolled with avocado and cream cheese and topped with spicy krab mix, spicy mayo and sriracha.

This is all SPOT ON when it comes to the flavors and textures. The spicy krab mix is no joke, there’s quite the kick to this dish, and the brininess from the crab comes through as well. The spicy mayo and sriracha both added so much flavor to this dish against the earthy avocado and brine from the seafood, and then the sticky rice brings it all together. This was beautiful, delicious, and we can absolutely see why it’s a popular option!

We must have really brought our appetites along for a journey because we also grabbed Buzzy’s Bacon Burger for $23. This burger comes topped with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, ketchup and mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. It’s also served with a side of crinkle cut fries.

This reminded us of a backyard burger in the best way. Was it better than the burgers you’ll find in the parks? Absolutely, without a doubt, but we don’t see it beating out more popular and sought-after burgers like the one at Steakhouse 71. The onion flavor is pretty strong, even if you take it off, and this is another one that you don’t want to let sit for too long. The toppings will soften the bun on the bottom, and that makes it hard to pick up! Our only complaint was that we would have liked some more cheese, as it was so thin we almost couldn’t tell it was there.

For dessert, we grabbed the Super Sundae for $9. This is made with heaping scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream are topped with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry.

This was the menu offering that solidified to us that this is a PERFECT spot to make a reservation for during a holiday like Labor Day, because it really is like a fun outdoor barbecue with the dining options, music, tvs, and bowling! The vanilla ice cream here was more of that yellow vanilla ice cream rather than vanilla bean (but we still loved it!), and the chocolate ice cream was truly melt-in-your-mouth milk chocolate. With the toppings, this was so nostalgic, and while, yes, we could have made something similar at home, it tasted better coming from a restaurant, and we’d absolutely get it again.

To drink, we picked up the Rumrunner for $16. This premixed drink combines 151 Rum, blackberry brandy, Crème de Banana, pineapple and lime.

This is a pre-mixed drink, so it’s not overly strong, but it was still good! It tastes mostly like fruit punch with a hint of run underneath it. We didn’t taste a whole ton of the blackberry brandy, as it was mostly at the bottom, so you’ll want to stir this one up and start sipping on it the moment it arrives so you’re not drinking it all melted.

Services: Table Service
Overall, we think this is a great spot and totally underrated by 99% of Disney World visitors. Yes, it’s not for everyone, especially if the backyard barbecue style menu (or sushi) isn’t your thing, but otherwise, we think this is totally worth a try for everyone!
