The Lightning Lane system has seen a lot of changes recently, and another change is taking place today.

The newest addition to the Lightning Lane system, Lightning Lane Premier Pass, rolled out to Disney World hotel guests who were staying at Deluxe or Deluxe Villa resorts on October 30th, 2024. Then on November 11th, Disney updated the rules so that ALL Disney World hotel guests would be eligible to purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
Now, ALL Disney World guests can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Staying at a Disney World hotel is no longer a requirement, and as long as you have valid park admission to Disney World you can take advantage of Lightning Lane Premier Pass.

However, the time frame you will be able to purchase does differ a bit. Guests of Disney World hotels and other select hotels can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to 7 days in advance of their stay. While all other guests can purchase Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to 3 days in advance of their park visit.

Lightning Lane Premier Pass is the priciest option for skipping the lines at Disney World, but it also provides the most flexibility. With Lightning Lane Premier Pass, guests will be allowed one-time access to each Lightning Lane entrance at attractions in a single theme park per day.

Guests can use the Lightning Lane whenever they wish, there is no need to reserve a time slot in advance. However, there is no park hopper option for Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Disney World.

In addition to Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you can also purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Passes. With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can make 3 Lightning Lane selections in a theme park, in advance of your visit. Then, as you use each selection, you are able to make another selection. With Lightning Lane Multi Pass you will select from the available one-hour time windows.

With Lightning Lane Single Pass, you will purchase an available time window to utilize the Lightning Lane for a single attraction. Rides that are available on Lightning Lane Single Pass are not available on Lightning Lane Multi Pass and include some of the most popular attractions in each of the parks.

Of course, we gave Lightning Lane Premier Pass a try when it first debuted, so if you want to see Quincy’s experience with the newest system, make sure to check out our video:
