There’s been a lot happening in the world of air travel over the past few months.

We’ve seen planes pulled for inspections after a midair incident, and more inspections could be on the way in the future. If you usually fly to Disney World, there’s something you should know — one low-cost airline is ending service.
Back in October 2022, Lynx Air officially started offering flights to and from the Orlando Airport. The airline is based out of Calgary, Canada, and began offering flights to Orlando back in January 2023.

However, just over a year later, the airline has “filed for court protection from creditors and will cease operations” on February 26th, 2024 according to Reuters. This closure comes from “rising operating costs, high fuel prices and increasing airport charges.”

So, what should you do if you have a flight booked with Lynx Air after February 26th? The airline has said all those who are affected by canceled flights will be emailed, and beyond that, customers must contact their credit card company for a refund. And no, Lynx Air’s help center will not be able to assist with refunds.

If you’ve booked through a travel agent, you’ll need to contact them to make alternate arrangements, but “those passengers may have to make those arrangements on their own,” according to the Canadian Transportation Agency.

This means that many Lynx Air passengers may be stranded at their vacation destinations, which is NOT a great situation to be in. We’re here to keep you updated on the situation, so stay tuned to AllEars.
