It’s a big day for Disney World as park passes disappear for many guests, park hopping returns to normal, and the Disney Dining Plan makes a comeback.

While many are celebrating the changes, the weather had other plans. Yesterday, we warned you that severe weather was headed for Disney World and now it has arrived.
According to WESH2, several Central Florida counties are under a Tornado Watch until 9PM tonight. The list of counties includes Orange and Osceola, the two counties where Disney World is located.

What happens when severe weather like this hits Disney World? A good rule of thumb for any trip before you leave is to check the weather predictions and pack accordingly. Even if there isn’t rain in the forecast, we recommend packing some rain gear just in case a surprise shower pops up.

As far as closures go, you should expect outdoor rides to close when lightning is in the area and it is likely that the fireworks shows will be canceled. Keep checking the My Disney Experience app for the latest updates on rides and shows.
