Queen Elizabeth II passed away today, September 8th, 2022, at her Scottish estate Balmoral. She was 96 years old and had reigned for 70 years.

The Queen’s influence during her reign stretched over the Commonwealth and to many nations and people throughout the world. She even had an impact on some of the classic Disney stories that many know and love today.
Take a look at how The Queen influenced some popular Disney stories.
You might already know that Queen Elizabeth II was a fan of A.A. Milne’s original Winnie the Pooh series. For The Queen’s 95th birthday, our friends at the Hundred Acre Wood wanted to celebrate with her.

Disney animators created a short clip about Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, and Christopher Robin taking a pot of honey and 95 balloons to Windsor Castle for The Queen. The short was called “Winnie the Pooh and the Royal Adventure.”

This wasn’t the first time Winnie the Pooh celebrated with The Queen, though! In 2016, Disney released a book called Winnie the Pooh and the Royal Birthday, which showed the Queen meeting the bear for the first time in honor of her 90th birthday.

In a Pixar movie, Queen Elizabeth II makes a short “cameo,” but not as you may recognize her. In Cars 2, The Queen is represented as a regal-looking car (voiced by Vanessa Redgrave) complete with a crown on her head. She oversees the race and defends Mater with “Prince Wheeliam” wants to leave.

Mater introduces Lightning McQueen to The Queen: “By the way, have y’all met each other? Queen, McQueen. McQueen, Queen!”

On a more serious note, you can watch a documentary about Queen Elizabeth II’s life on Disney+. The film — called Being the Queen — “chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II using never-before-heard interview recordings from those who know her the best.”

In so many ways, Queen Elizabeth II’s influence will be greatly missed by people all over the world. We extend condolences to all those mourning her passing at this time.
