As more vaccines have become available in the U.S., we’ve been seeing some states shift their policies and regulations in response to growing vaccination numbers and decreases in COVID-19 cases.

In the state of California, the governor has regulated the reopening of business and activities based on a tier system, allowing for things to slowly reopen as cases decrease in each county. And, there’s been an update that may impact a few California theme parks.
According to ABC 7, Los Angeles County has moved into the yellow tier from its previous orange tier. This means that the county is seeing “minimal” COVID-19 cases and can relax its current restrictions further.

One of the main changes that this could have for the county involves capacity limits for businesses and theme parks. And, according to the tiered system, amusement parks could increase their capacity from 25% (which is required in the Orange tier) to 35%.

Disneyland Resort is located in Orange County, so they will not be able to increase capacity just yet, though Universal Hollywood is located in Los Angeles so we may see an increase in park capacity sometime soon.

We will continue to keep an eye out for updates to COVID-19 restrictions and park capacity limits so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest!
