At the beginning of March, President Biden announced that he would be requiring states to make all adults eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine by May 1st.

Since, many states, including Florida, have made announcements on when the vaccine availability would open up to the public. And, as many states make moves to open up eligibility before the deadline, the White House may be adjusting the requirement.
According to CNBC, President Biden is set to move up the initial May 1st deadline and direct that states make all American adults eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine by April 19th later today.

Last week, Biden announced that those who wanted to be vaccinated would have access to a vaccination site within five miles of their home and that 90% of adults would be eligible for the vaccine by April 19th. But, he is upping the anty and pushing that May 1st deadline up by nearly two weeks.

Biden is also expected to share that the U.S. is leading the way in vaccinations, being the first country to provide 150 million shots, according to CNBC.

Currently, 75% of those over the age of 65 have received the vaccine, with over 55% being fully vaccinated. And, the federal government is set to increase the federal pharmacy vaccination program from 17,000 locations to 40,000 and open 12 additional federal mass vaccination sites.
