We’re halfway to Halloween, and that means we are inching closer and closer to events like Universal’s 30th Halloween Horror Nights. (EEEEEP!)

While Disney hasn’t announced if Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will return this year, other Halloween experiences are gearing up already. And, we’re giving you a sneak peek inside one of them… if you dare to read on, that is!
Scream ‘n Stream will be returning for another year from September 18th to October 31st at the Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures in Kissimmee, Florida. The drive-thru horror event was a hit last year, so it’s no surprise that it will be bigger and better this time around!

Attractions Magazine was able to score a few details and a partial ride-through of the event so far, thanks to Scream ‘n Stream team member Patrick Braillard. The plot will involve a zombie-style infection and an industrial theme. Elements like chain-link fences and scaffolding will help with lighting and sound, as well as preventing guests from seeing the scenes ahead too early.

Since guests’ vehicles will be crucial to the storyline, they will be given two laser “suppression” guns that will allow them to interact with characters. The scare actors will wear sensors that flash when they are hit for an added element of “realism.” It’s important to note that drivers may not shoot.

The cars will also have a “tech package” that includes changing lights and sounds during the drive-thru. Scream ‘n Stream is trying to amp the scares this year with more tactile effects like water, fog, and (of course) blood.

The experience will be slightly longer than last year’s, taking guests 20 to 25 minutes to drive through. As they wait for their turn in a virtual queue, a scare zone will also be available to explore with an “evil DJ,” food, and merchandise. According to Attractions Magazine, employees will receive bonuses for good attendance and a portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank.
You can currently purchase pre-sale tickets for $55 per car before the event kicks off this September. Stay tuned to AllEars for the latest theme park and attraction news!
