Since reopening this summer, Splash Mountain has been no stranger to technical difficulties and temporary downtimes. These difficulties even resulted in a boat submerging while guests were on board.
While visiting Magic Kingdom today, we noticed that the attraction has once again closed temporarily.
We happened to notice that there were no guests currently in the queue area, suggesting that the ride was completely down as opposed to a brief pause in operations.
We also noticed that the boats were backed up in the attraction itself.
Guests exiting the ride were told that the ride was being shut down to fix a technical issue of some kind. Cast Members say they hope to reopen later today.
We will keep an eye on Splash Mountain to see if or when it comes back up today!
