NEWS! Derek Hough from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Signs New Deal with ABC!

While many movies and television shows have been delayed this year, we have so been enjoying the return of Dancing with the Stars (Disney Night is our favorite, btw!).

However, this season, there have been a few changes. Back in July, Tyra Banks was brought on as the show’s new host after longtime hosts following Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews’ exit. Now, just a week after the show’s season 29 debut, another change has been announced. But this time, it’s not the departure of a familiar face, but rather the return.

During last week’s show, Emmy Award winner and six-time Mirrorball champion Derek Hough joined judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba as a new regular judge.

But now, according to ABC, Hough has signed a new deal with ABC Entertainment allowing him to both host and develop special programming for the network!

“Coming home to ABC and being given the opportunity to develop projects for them that are as much on brand for them as they are for me makes this even that more exciting for me,” said Derek Hough.

Karey Burke, the president of ABC Entertainment, said, “He (Hough) has been part of our ABC family for many years; the energy and dedication he brings to every project is palpable. We value his partnership immensely and look forward to the exciting and imaginative projects to come.”
