Hulu will be updating its user interface to be more consistent with Disney+ and ESPN + according to Variety Magazine.

Viewers have had problems navigating the ability to find new content on the streaming service as opposed to the “continue watching” features. Taking this into consideration, Hulu will update their interface for guests to look through collections vertically and explore within a certain collection by moving through it horizontally. In other words, it will be extremely similar to Disney+ navigation.

Content categories (like TV, Movies, Sports, and more) will be moving to the master navigation menu so viewers can use less clicks to watch shows, according to the Vice President on product management Jim Denney and director of product management Jason Wong.

There will also be the tile size image of a show or movie like Disney+ uses. New content may use larger tiles, while shows you could “keep watch” have smaller tiles. Hulu will also be displaying “curated collection” based off a viewer’s watch patterns. So, if you’re a big fan of rom coms, you’ll see those prioritized in your menu first!

The new interface has started to become available to some Roku and Apple TV customers, but will make its way to more platforms over the summer. This just gives us more of an excuse to binge new shows on Hulu from home!
