Six Flags Great America is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and with it comes many changes. Most of the new changes are fun additions coming for the anniversary. However, one of them is the demolition of a popular attraction.

Six Flags Great America opened on May 29th, 1976, in Gurnee, Illinois. According to WGN 9, representatives from the park made a presentation at the American Coaster Enthusiasts No Coaster Con in Rosemont, where they announced new changes and additions to the theme park for its 50th anniversary. Among these announcements was confirmation that a Six Flags attraction had been demolished.

Winner’s Circle Go Karts, located by the Little Dipper roller coaster, has officially been removed and demolished. The attraction was across from the Camp Cartoon kids section in the Yukon Territory of the park.

There wasn’t any announcement as to why they removed the go-kart ride. They also never mentioned what would be coming to the area, assuming something is replacing the attraction.

It was previously mentioned by Six Flags that they are planning on adding a brand-new kids’ area to the park. We have a hunch that this could be a potential new space for it — after all, it’s wide open now!
